South Shore Corridor Project

We represented Port Metro Vancouver as the Project Manager (through Collings Johnson Inc.) in this design, bid, build project which included significant road upgrades, a 600 meter elevated structure spanning over numerous feeder rail crossings, as well as upgrades to the overall corridor fibre optic communications system. In addition, we managed various departments within the Port organization to ensure timely decision making and assisted with the development of their tender documents. This was an important component of this assignment such that the construction works could be coordinated on the very active port lands. Federal funding was part of the overall $75,000,000 budget and brought with it strict completion date requirements.

Project Details:

Client: Port Metro Vancouver

Timeline: November 2011 – March 2014

Project Budget: $75,000,000

Highlight: The construction phase was very challenging due to the requirements to minimize the impacts to the fully operating Federal port facilities. Further challenges we overcame included being brought in partway through the project and the Port representative changing numerous times throughout the project.
